It is day 4 in the RAAM for NRG PT athlete Jeff Ruston and his riding partner Kevin Wallace of Team Coast to Coast against Cancer. They are a little over half way across the US and currently in first place. They have been setting a blistering pace and are currently riding 1.5mph faster than the record pace for a 2 man team. This despite the fact that the support van was rear ended by a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel. Then later on the van had a flat tire!
Jeff and Kevin are riding to raise money to help kids cancer camps here in Ontario and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, they have raised over $500,000 so far. Jeff is also oraganizing a fund raising bike tour in Southern Ontario this August called the Tour for Kids . The ride travels to 4 different kids cancer camps in Southern Ontario raising money for each of them. This is a great way to get in a long ride all for a good cause.
