Now that the weather has improved and we are able to swim open water we are going to be having some informal swim/bike/run workouts from Lake Wilcox (20min North of TO) on the weekends. We will be meeting in the parking lot at 7:15am each Sat and Sun to be in the water swimming for 7:30am. This will allow everyone to swim with someone else. The lake is approx 1km and has markers on it so we swim out and back across the lake. We will then hop on the bikes and out for a ride. There will be some maps posted on the athletes only section of the website, and you can contact Nigel for ride details.
The idea behind these workouts is that you can still do the specific workout that has been set out for you in your program but have other athletes around. We hope to be able to split athletes into small groups to do their rides together, but be prepared wih a map to do your ride on your own. The run off the bike is along Bethesda Side Rd which is a quiet gravel road that you can run out and back on.
Directions to Lake Wilcox:
East end of TO: North on the 404 to Stoufville Side Rd, left (W) on Stoufville to Bayview, right (N) on Bayview to Bethesda, left (W) on Bethesda for 50m then right into the gravel parking lot (south parking lot).
West end of TO: North on the 400 to King Side road, right (E) on King side rd till it stops at Yonge (R) south on Yonge 150m then left (E) on Sunset Beach Rd to Bethesda Side rd, right on Bethesda for 150m then left into the parking lot (south parking lot).
Most weekends Nigel, Fiona or Sylvie will be on site to answer questions and help out, but each will also be doing there own workout.
