Day 4: This was our transfer day, this involved the Cat 1 Perysorde to start, then the Cat 1 Col d’Aspin, then the HC Tourmalet (with some snow at the top to make it fun!). We were riding for just over 7hours, 146+km, 3700m of climbing, 30+C in the valleys and the actual hardest part of the day was an unnamed, in the middle of nowhere surprise 3km climb that averaged close to 18+%. I had a 6min effort of 365watts at the top just to get up it!!
Its not hard to get motivated when this is where you are riding:
Â
Joni, Marcie, Colleen, Elaine, Densie, Murn and Nigel at the top of the Aspin:

Â
Almost at the top of the Tourmalet, a little bit of snow, but that made it more fun! It was actually quite warm and we where in shorts and jersey’s coming up and only a vest on the way down

Â
Wolf giving Kim a hand to see how far up they could make it!
Â
Â
Cervelo R5 with Di2, the perfect bike for France:
Â
Â
A cafe stop at the bottom, it was hot!!
Â
Day 5: this was an easier day, just one HC climb, the famous Luz Ardiden, so just 1400+m of climbing today, but it was 30+C again today and we rode to the top and decsended in shorts and jersey only, everyone was looking for shade at the cafe stop at the bottom!
Day 6 tomorrow is Stage 16 of the Tour, this will be our biggest day yet!
