Catching up with the Races

We have had lots of athletes racing over the last few weekends and here is an update on how everyone has been doing.

National Duathlon championships: Hamilton, this was a very tough day at the office!! Windy, cold, precipitation (a few different forms of!) made for very hard race conditions. Kyle Paul, Jenn Sauks, Paul Winmill, David Houghton and Sandy Skradski all raced well under very tough conditions!

Disney HIM: Under much different conditions down in Florida Mike Apted and Jason Greenlees where racing in the Disney 70.3 HIM. Both had good races and this was Mikes first HIM, congrats!

Now for those who where out training (or racing) on May 20th will remember what a terrible day it was, well Paul Regan had it tougher than anyone. He was in a 300km randonneuring event that day that went from Maple and around to Collingwood. Paul finished at 1:45am, yes am Monday morning after braving those conditions for nearly 15hours! He then backed this up by doing a 400km the weekend after, amazing!

Ottawa Marathon: On the May 28th weekend was the Ottawa marathon, now one week after it was freezing and snowing, it warmed up to 29C!! Not ideal conditions for the marathon but Johnathan Hostick took 40min off his PB and ran 3:08 despite the warm conditions!

Milton: This past weekend marked the start of the Tri season in Milton and we had a lot of NRG PT athletes racing, congrats to, Alina Toma (1st in her age group), Lili Ziobakas, Rick Blum, David Houghton, Jason Greenlees, Gary Chevalier (first ever tri!!), 1), Adam Rossborough, Stephen Peck, Nicole Gilinsky, Chris Cavacuiti, David Taylor, Ken Marks, Dave Marten, Eric Drolet, Mike Apted, Sandy Skradski, Nikki Drakul, Paul Winmill, Terri Ritter, Rob Gendron and Paul Monczka, a great start to the season.

Mooseman HIM: Darlene Hall traveled down to the Mooseman half Ironman in her lead up to Ironman Lake Placid and had some tough, wet cold conditions but still put together a solid race.

Congratulations to everyone on a great start to the season
