Sears National Kids Cancer Ride 2010-Guelph Inside Ride

The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride is one of the world’s longest charitable cycling events on behalf of childhood cancer.

This event is organized and managed by the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation. Primarily volunteer-based, the Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families living with and beyond childhood cancer across Canada. The Foundation develops and runs a number of high-quality, physically-challenging, local, regional and national events (including the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride) that raise funds directed towards pediatric oncology research, survivorship and support programs focused on improving the survival rate of children with cancer.

Tom Gibson, a cyclist from Guelph will be participating in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride in September 2010 to raise funds and awareness of children’s cancer research and initiatives in Canada. The required fundraising commitment for each of the 48 riders is $25,000. To meet this goal an indoor bike relay event called the Inside Ride will be held on March 6, 2010 at the Science Complex Atrium at the University of Guelph at 10 am. The time commitment is small (2 hours) with an emphasis on fun and fundraising. This is the second annual Guelph Inside Ride following last year’s successful event in the same location.
