Here is an update on how the NRG PT Team did at IMLP, IMC and IMMoo
Ironman Lake Placid started off a little wet and cool but ended up with some great conditions for the second half of the bike and the run. We had a strong showing from our NRG PT athletes with 2 first time finishers, 5 PB’s and 3 Ironman Hawaii Qualifiers
Laura Cameron- first time finisher and only 19 years old!
Mark Zirbser – a solid race after a few years away from the sport
Augy Marmelo – going back to Hawaii after a 10+year break!
Walt Spoja – PB and qualified for his first IM Hawaii spot with a 3:20 marathon!
Marisa Spoja – a tough day with some pre-existing issues
Darlene Hall – 1st in age group (by 50min) and second woman overall, Hawaii qualifier
Chris Cavacuiti – bad luck with a broken wheel on the bike
Nicole Gilinsky – PB
Stewart Mackie – first time finisher
JJ Neely – 2nd IM and PB
Adam Rossborough – PB
Rob West – A solid day
Ironman Canada was a little smokey again in the lead up to the race (fires from the US) but with a change in wind direction race day turned out great, flat water, light winds and not too hot. This was a big race for NRG PT athletes this year and lots of team colours where out on the course. Some highlights include 16 first time finishers, 14 PBs and 3 Hawaii qualifiers! Head Coach Nigel Gray – a little slower than last year!
Ironman Wisconsin after 3 consecutive years of incredibly hot weather the tables where turned this year and it was cool and wet all day! But NRG PT athletes did very well in the tough conditions with Kyle Paul finishing his first IM and Paul Clarke and Eric Drolet both setting PB’s under less than ideal conditions.
