Tour For Kids

This is Fiona’s report from the Tour For Kids ride on the weekend:

Tour For Kids

On Friday August 13, 04 I embarked on a new journey in a 100 km road ride with the Tour for Kids from Orillia to Haliburton. The Tour for Kids ride is a charity ride to raise money for kids with cancer to go to camp. There are 3 camps in Ontario, which the tour raises money for: Camp Trillium, Camp Quality and Camp Oochigeas. This is a great cause and a great way to get a long ride in over the weekend. It is a ride not a race so you can go at your own pace without any pressure. The supported tour is a 1 to 4 day event, which begins in Toronto, and makes it’s way to Markdale, Haliburton, Wellington and finishes in Lanark. What a fabulous event, the organizers did an outstanding job from the registration to support vehicles to the rest stops and the final BBQ and party. This event is for all levels of cyclists, surprise yourself with this challenge and ride 100km or more and support a great cause while doing it – the kids need your help! Let’s make it bigger and better next year – see you on the road! “Ride Somewhere Meaningful”.
